And that's kind of the point. I'm equal parts calm presence, guide, and observer. What you get is a collection of images that feel lived in and true. Grain, texture, and genuine emotion. The kind of photos your grandkids will ask about.
How i work
My documentary approach
My approach is shaped by the photographers, filmmakers, and artists I obsess over. I geek out over Wes Anderson's meticulous framing and Christopher Nolan's storytelling; because your moments deserve to feel both cinematic and completely real. Everything I do is built on this foundation: be present, work with light, shoot film, tell your story authentically.
The glances and gestures that happen when you forget a camera is in the room. I shoot natural light whenever possible; Alaska gives us some of the most beautiful light on the planet and I'd rather work with it than fight it. My approach blends documentary coverage with an editorial eye. Think photojournalism meets fine art. I also shoot film because it brings intentionality, a timeless look, and a physical medium in this ever-so-digital world.

Meet connor
From palmer, Alaska since day one.
I'm Connor, and I've called Alaska home my entire life. I grew up in Palmer, in the heart of the Mat-Su Valley, the kind of place where you learn to respect weather, land, and the people beside you.
I first picked up a camera at thirteen and made a photo book in high school that I still have on my bookshelf. Life took a scenic detour after that. I was a farmhand, a mortician's assistant, an EMT at seventeen, and a firefighter at eighteen. I spent five years with Palmer Fire Department, became a rescue technician, and got red-card certified for forestry fire. I learned how to stay calm under pressure, read situations quickly, and understand that sometimes the smallest decisions save lives.
Somewhere in the middle of all that, I traveled to New Zealand with my wife and rekindled my passion for my art. Photography had been the dream since I was a kid. In 2019, I finally chased it for real. Now I document people who are wildly in love in the most beautiful, unforgiving, and humbling place I know. Alaska made me who I am. That's the lens I look through when I'm looking at you.

My love for photography stems from the art of photojournalism, when editors sent photographers to live in the story and document what it was truly like to be there. I want to be your personal photojournalist and tell the story your love holds. The kind of work that connects us to what makes us human.

Alaska doesn't care about your plans. The weather shifts. The light changes. The landscape demands respect. I learned this growing up here and working in fire and rescue. The wilderness isn't a backdrop; it's an active participant in your day. I work with it, not against it.

Your wedding or elopement is about your relationship, not about me or my portfolio. I don't manufacture moments. I don't force emotions. I create the conditions for you to be yourselves, and I capture what's already there. Authenticity beats aesthetics every time.

A few things about me
So we aren't complete strangers after all.
I shoot on a tilt shift lens for environmental portraits. It creates a look you probably haven't seen in other Alaska photography portfolios.
My humor is dry, a little dark, and full of dad jokes. Gaining granddad lore every day.
I've traveled and shot on horseback, ATV, snowmachine, helicopter, and bush plane all over Alaska.
I'm always looking to get outside and enjoy Alaska with my family whether it’s camping or hiking together or taking a fishing trip.
I love chasing and photographing the northern lights in winter. The sky always has a story to tell.
I have a secret obsession with wristwatches and the craftsmanship involved in making them. I'm always looking for the next one.
